Prof. Dr. Wim Jiskoot

We mourn Prof. Dr. Wim Jiskoot (*5 January 1961 - † 22 August 2021), who passed away unexpectedly at the age of 60.

Prof. Dr. Wim Jiskoot was a member of Coriolis' Scientific Advisory Board and an expert in vaccine formulation and delivery, as well as protein formulation development (with special interest in unwanted immunogenicity in relation with protein structure and formulation). Since 2006, he was a professor in drug delivery technology at the Leiden Academic Centre for Drug Research (LACDR), Leiden University (The Netherlands).

Prof. Dr. Wim Jiskoot has collected over 25 years of experience in the field of (bio)pharmaceutical sciences while working in the Netherlands, USA and Germany. From 1994 to 1998, he led the Department of Bacterial Vaccine Development at the National Institute of Public Health and the Environment (Bilthoven, The Netherlands). Amongst many achievements, Prof. Wim Jiskoot has been awarded the Fellowship of the AAPS (American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists) in 2016 and was selected by Thomson Reuters as ‘Highly Cited Researcher’ in three consecutive years. Prof. Dr. Wim Jiskoot has published over 400 research papers, patents and book chapters.
