Gene and Cell Therapies: CMC, CGT & Vector Manufacturing

Gene Therapies, CAR-T Cell Therapies, and other Advanced Therapy Medicinal Products (ATMPs) are advancing rapidly, demonstrating tremendous progress while developers continue struggling with CMC, analytical, process development, manufacturing, and aseptic processing challenges.

At the Gene and Cell Therapies: CMC, CGT & Vector Manufacturing Summit ortanized by Vonlanthen on 18 - 19 November 2021 in Munich, industry experts will discuss:

  • Important aspects of establishing an efficient and consistent CMC (Chemistry Manufacturing Controls) strategy
  • Controlling a product’s CQAs (Critical Quality Attributes) by controlling the process’ CPPs (Critical Process Parameters)
  • Key factors in easing the complexity of vector development and production
  • Critical elements of controlling a manufacturing process for CGTP (Cell and Gene Therapy Products) in order to ensure that:
  • Manufacturing process met technical and regulatory requirements for producing safe and efficient products
  • High product quality is achieved
  • Commercially viable CGTP are delivered

Coriolis Expert Dr. Klaus Richter will give a talk about critical quality attributes of viral vectors

In his talk "Assessing Critical Quality Attributes of viral vectors for gene therapy", Dr. Klaus Richter will compare several orthogonal techniques, including Analytical Ultracentrifugation, for the characterization of viral vectors. He will be discussing the following:

  • Determining the particle concentration and size of viral vectors by using Dynamic Light Scattering (DLS), Nanoparticle Tracking Analysis (NTA) and Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM)
  • Assessing the stability of viral vectors by using Nano Dynamic Scanning Fluorimetry (nanoDSF)
  • Quantification of emtpy vs. full capsids in AAV samples by Analytical Ultracentrifugation (AUC)
  • Manufacturing and purification of AAVs by Ion Exchange Chromatography (IEX)

The event will be held online and on-site. Dr. Klaus Richter is very looking forward to the talk and is hoping for many interesting questions and a fruitful discussion.
